Alas, satire and parody often need familiar reference points, and so I employed the old outdated style here. But I shall to improve next time I do such a parody.
This is so exquisitely savage, I love it. Would that the person(s) responsible for writing the actual letter had the mettle to write something similar.
I hope you will not feel that this is too excessively woke, but your otherwise excellent letter would benefit by not starting with "Dear Sirs."
nor ended 'Yours faithfully'
Well that at least is gender neutral :-)
Faithfully is correct for a letter addressed to 'Sirs'.
Not at the law firm that I first worked at. ‘Yours truly’ as faithfully implies faith of a certain sort.
Probably just right for Trumpers.
You make a good point Harry

Superb - thanks David. It's time for the Beetlejuice principle to be fully enshrined in law ;)
😂
A fairly majestic response. I would offer one very slight amendment, right at the end:
Yours faithfully [and do please fuck off]
Splendid!
Excellent.
Perhaps you should consider sending a copy to the Guardian's "Legal Affairs correspondent" who, with zero apparent training in law, has an imperfect grasp of the legal issues involved yet is spreading misinformation to readers. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/nov/11/can-donald-trump-sue-bbc-which-party-would-win
I am not responsible for what is said by any other commentator.
In light of DAG's reply, I suggest that you sent the text of the draft letter to The Guardian.
Thank you for your attention"
Perfect ending (maybe in block capitals for DJT?)
“Thank you for your attention to this matter.” Delicious.
Fabulous and very funny

Love it, worth my subscription for that alone. Thank you for all the fascinating insights you provide.
This.
Not sure the BBC can apologise and accept an error on behalf of the production company.
Alas, the curse of a reply starting "Not sure".
But I can help: you can be sure. If you broadcast (or publish) something produced by a third party then it is your responsibility.
Happy to help.
Brilliant! DAG for BBC DG🤭
I do hope that you will find a way to ensure that the BBC Board and management get to read your outstanding draft!
"Thank you for your attention to this matter."
Fabulous 👌
